There are blogs a'plenty in the cycling world. Whilst some are markedly better than others, both good and bad have a unifying theme; they are all passionate cycling fans. A example of the former is relatively new blog and cycling style destination 'The Discerning Cyclist', who recently reviewed our latest release: the Muxu Town jacket.

A streamlined water repellant urban cycling jacket for the city commuter, or indeed touring cyclist, the Town Jacket received a warm, well-balanced review from Ste at The Discerning Cyclist, with the UK orientated site praising the Town's pared-down style, great fit and pleasing nods to the daily requirements of urban cyclists. They even made a nice illustration of a stylish chap wearing the jacket - that man could be you if you like what DC had to say.

You can read the full review here.

The Ride Jeans remain a Cycling Plus favourite

When the UK's best selling features your cycling jeans, it's an honour. But, like the old adage that says it's harder to do a thing a second time (a thought perhaps occupying the mind of Bradley Wiggins at the moment..) we were blown away to once again appear in the pages Cycling Plus recently, with the Future publication placing us in their 'Gear we love' zone, saying:

"There are plenty of bike-specific jeans on the market now but Muxu's (muxu.cc) are a firm favourite. They're supremely comfortable on the bike - especially around the crotch - and have proven to be hard-wearing. We've had other jeans wear around the butt after just one ride! best of all they don't look out of place off of the bike." Rob Spedding

(click here for a screenshot from the magazine)

A timely feature for sure, as we have just received a new delivery of the Muxu Jean in every size, including long out of stock 34/32. to celebrate the new arrivals, we've also just created a new offer that will automatically shave 10% off your order total if you purchase the Ride Jeans with our new Town Jacket.

Ride on.

It doesn't happen often, but when it does, not even fabled bike handlers like Alberto Contador or Vincenzo Nibali could stay upright. We are of course referring to that time in your cycling life when caution is thrown most defiantly to the wind, and you decide, without rhyme or reason, to plough straight onto a frozen pond.

Of course, you crash, pick yourself up, and leave the pond for another day. A better day. Next time those ducks won't laugh, you'll make them pay the Iron Price (Game of Thrones in-joke, we don't recommend killing ducks). Next time, you'll be equipped with Bike Spikes from young Dutch designer Cesar van Rongen!

A cunning device on the cusp of entering production, the Bike Spikes wrap around your existing tyres, clip in place, and leave you free to ride the aforementioned pond, upright, balanced and very nearly gracious. The worm has turned duck friends! Devastatingly simple, the Bike Spikes are in actuality rubber casings fitted with gripping metal teeth that would fit most city / touring bikes, although perhaps not small clearance road bikes - have to ask Cesar about that. Fully able to traverse the worst winter can throw at you, they can also tackle asphalt without much ado, although like wet tyres in Formula 1, you'll be hunting for the slippery stuff after too long off the ice.

Today, on this the last day of despatch before Christmas (we return Jan 3rd) we're really happy to announce the release of new Muxu! Encompassing a stylish city cycling jacket and a pair of water repellant 3/4 shorts, the Town and Tempest respectively are designed for city riders in need of stylish, yet water resistant outerwear that both breathes and looks superb on or off the bike.

Created from a 'water off a duck's back' Swiss fabric that in use is both light yet protective, the new Muxu pairing offer rider ready detailing and a fit that, whilst slim, is nevertheless very accessible. Riders who own our first generation Ride Shorts will be pleased to hear we've taken on your comments and made the shorts specifically, much more regular.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support this year. We've had a lot of great press, made some digital friends on Twitter and Facebook, and have enjoyed your emails and nice comments. We very much look forward to a great 2013 with you!

When you're on Twitter within an active community like cycling, you never quite know what the day will bring - a retweet, a link or amusing story, its a pretty nice place to hang out for a few minutes of every day. Just recently, we were surprised to receive a tweet from a fellow rider alerting us to a recent Muxu feature inside UK based magazine Cycling Plus.

Our fellow tweeter had very kindly posted a high resolution .pdf of the article, and on clicking through we were honoured to see that ther Muxu cycling jeans had been featured in the commuting section, and overwhelemed by the clear effort this Future Publishing title had put into getting a great shot of the product.

A big thank you to Cycling Plus and to Matt Fantastic for the tweet and hosting of the .pdf!

Berlin Calling

¡SALUD y MUXU!

Being online means orders can come in from almost anywhere in the world, and it's always a surprise to be sending items sometimes so far afield. As a baromter of urban cycling's popularity, Canada seems to be one country that is pretty hot for Muxu right, as this photo from Stuart, a Muxu wearing customer hailing from Vancouver shows.

Stuart bought a pair of our Ride Jeans before Christmas, after which he very kindly sent us some shots of him riding and wearing in and around Vancouver. We like this one taken from the bike - nice bars.

We sent Stuart a little Muxu gift as thanks for his photos, so if you have a nice shot of your good self or friend wearing Muxu, pop it over to us for equal giftness!

A sudden burst of website traffic and some excited tweets alerted us to the release of the Guardian's Christmas Cycling Gift photo feature, of which the Muxu Japanese Denim Jeans were featured as the first gift for the cyclist in your life.

Sitting alongside some other very nice gifts from the cycling world, the British newspaper took a liking to our cycling jeans, praising their 'anatomical design and stretch blend fabric' amongst other features.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Guardian and specifically the author of the feature, Matthew Wright, for featuring Muxu, and for their great use of our photo from the Barcelona jeans shoot. You have indeed made Jordi, the rider in the picture, a very happy man.
